We are seeking enthusiastic new IT specialists to join various directorates within the European Patent Office (EPO), Europe's second largest international organisation.
The Information Management (IM) department of the EPO has some 400 permanent staff, as well as a number of managed service providers, working on IT and information processing, with a professional and proactive focus on supporting the EPO's different business processes.
As IT specialist, you will work on challenging projects in areas such as IT infrastructure, networking and VoIP technology, information retrieval and management systems and application/data/process integration.
Minimum qualifications
- Diploma of completed studies at master's level (preferably in computer science) or – in exceptional cases – equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent knowledge of one official language (English, French or German) and ability to understand the other two.
- Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation.
The ideal candidates will have professional experience and specialist knowledge as well as being able to work efficiently in a multicultural environment.
Salary and benefits
The EPO offers competitive salaries, an excellent social package, and varied work in a modern international environment. The net (basic) monthly salary* for this vacancy ranges from EUR 5 223.18 to 7 396.97, depending on experience. In addition, depending on their personal circumstances, EPO staff may be entitled to relocation benefits and various allowances (e.g. household, dependant's, childcare, education, expatriation, installation and rent allowance).
* after deduction of EPO internal tax and before deduction of staff contributions to the social-security and pension schemes.

The successful candidates will be selected on the basis of qualifications, supplemented as appropriate by interviews, tests and/or a personality questionnaire. It is intended to hold the interviews in September 2016 in The Hague or Munich.
