The Center of Excellence teams are part of Microsoft Enterprise Services HQ and are responsible for developing highly skilled global teams that assist the Microsoft field, business groups, product groups, and partners in the early wins and adoption/implementation of Microsoft growth technologies in the enterprise space.

Worldwide (WW) Services is looking for senior consultants to build and manage our global capabilities in the Cloud Platform market. The Microsoft Consulting Services Azure COE plays a broad role with high executive visibility. This team interfaces between Azure product groups, business groups, and Windows Azure Sales Incubation and EPG teams. To be successful, you must have a strong understanding of the Azure Platform capabilities and should be comfortable representing Microsoft platform technologies to Enterprise customers.

The Azure Delivery Consultant will drive solution architecture, lead ADS or POC sessions with customers, and oversee implementation of lighthouse Azure projects. You will also capture critical IP and deliver readiness to customer, field and partners. You will present at internal and external events, and create whitepapers and other content as needed.

General Requirements:
Successful candidates must possess appropriate technical skills or experience and be able to work effectively in a customer environment and excel at coordinating with teams of distributed sales and consulting professionals. Successful candidates must also have a strong understanding of consulting skills as a discipline, deep understanding of the MS sales and delivery methodologies, the Application Platform Capability model and good understanding of cloud, distributed computing and middleware technologies. Demonstrated success in the Services field organization is desired. Excellent written & verbal communications, experience persuading CxO level audiences (EBCs) and Technical Decision Makers (TDMs), and a desire to work in fast changing environment are also required. The ideal candidate will be a successful team member with proven technical leadership qualities, an innovative self-starter who is motivated by results.

Experience/ Skills Required:
• Solid knowledge of Cloud Computing and/or Hosting. Experience in Cloud, Distributed Computing or Middleware either with an SI, partner or in the Field/Subsidiary or in the Product Group.
• Demonstrated ability to create requirements for solution development. Proven consulting or technology architecture and delivery business experience.
• Strong project management experience with a demonstrated ability to drive the effective implementation of new technology and/or business process.
• Deep passion for and proven record of building and delivering innovative solutions that specifically meet customer needs and drive significant business value.
• Proven track record in proactively collaborating across groups with a clear focus on delivering results.
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in Business or Computer Science is preferred.
• Specialization in one or more of the following areas is desired:
• Cloud Application Architecture
• Application Lifecycle Management
• Data, storage and relational
• Infrastructure, Security, Management
• High Performance Computing, Grid
• Developer Tools

Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Engagements
• Work with local subsidiary sales and delivery teams to support both pre and post sales opportunities with Enterprise customers.
• Ensure local ownership of customer relationship and enable and empower local resources.
• Provide Architectural guidance and oversight as needed and facilitate appropriate connection to engineering.
• Intellectual Property
• Capture best practice methods and tools through customer engagement.
• Work with field subject matter experts to provide technical guidance: reference architectures, delivery methods, white papers, etc.
• Publish, share, and evangelize key artifacts.
• Capability & Capacity
• Develop and deliver required readiness and training for field and partner resources
• Develop and deliver required technical presentations at TechReady and other internal and external events.
• Ensure local resources are engaged in all opportunities to increase capability and experience.
• Feedback
• Capture and deliver technical feedback based on customer engagements directly to product planning and engineering.

Job location preference: Europe
