Position Description:
FHI 360 is currently seeking qualified candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded program in Ethiopia focusing on improving reading and writing skills of children in grades 1 to 4 in their mother tongue and English. The position being sought is: Monitoring and Evaluation Director The Monitoring and Evaluation Director, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will have primary responsibility to develop and implement monitoring, evaluation, research, data and analysis activities for all components of the Project and with a particular emphasis on measuring student learning outcomes in reading.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 10 years relevant experience in project and program evaluation, research, and survey implementation, with at least 2 years experience on a large international project. Experience assessing early grade reading strongly preferred. Demonstrated management and leadership qualities, experience building the capacity of local partners through workshops and on-the-job training. Strong written and oral English language skills. PH.D. in Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or other related field such as Education, International Development or Education policy. Africa experience preferred. Local language ability preferred (Affan, Oromo, Aff Somali, Amharic, Tigrinya, and/or Sidama).
