Agricultural Technology Commercialization Team Leader

Agricultural Technology Commercialization Team Leader, Washington, DC
We are currently seeking a Team Leader for the Agricultural Technology Commercialization Component on a USAID-funded Agricultural Commercialization & Innovation (AC&I) Activity. The project’s primary focus will be to promote new approaches to food security through innovative partnerships that improve market access for food-insecure households in Feed the Future countries. The AC&I Activity will have four components: (1) agricultural technology commercialization, (2) partnership development, (3) investment design and modeling, and (4) knowledge management.
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for overall management of Component 1, Commercialization of Agricultural Technology, including administrative, financial and personnel management.
- Provide technical leadership, oversight and support to all aspects of Component 1.
- Lead assessment for identifying agricultural technologies with commercial potential that are ready for commercialization (seeds, fertilizers, vaccines, feed, storage, etc.).
- Manage the award and implementation of the project’s innovation grants program in order to bring to scale agricultural technologies that are ready for commercialization.
- Lead and/or participate in strategic and high-level policy forums and meetings with USAID and all other counterparts to exchange information and develop professional relationships.
- Manage quality control and ensure timeliness of all deliverables, including work plans, quarterly reports and other USAID reporting deliverables.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- At least seven years of relevant work experience, including experience in promoting agricultural innovation and management of large grants programs.
- B.S. in agricultural technology, agribusiness or related field is required; M.B.A. or M.S. in relevant discipline is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working in emerging markets and at least five years of experience as a component leader for a similar program.
- Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with businesses and international donors is required.
