Business Communications Advisor

We are currently looking to recruit a corporate communications professional with several years experience to join a team supporting six of Shell’s Downstream global businesses – Lubricants, Commercial Fuels, Chemicals, Aviation, Marine and Specialities (bitumen/sulphur). The team is based in London and Singapore but works with colleagues all over the world. The individual will assist colleagues in the development and implementation of external communications plans to support all six growing businesses. The individual will also join the wider Shell corporate communications function, which is globally-connected and high-performance. Responsibilities:
· An understanding of broad energy industry issues and stakeholder perspectives
· Degree qualified
· Several years experience in corporate communications, either in-house or agency
· Experience in gathering and analysing external intelligence and communications.
· Experience in stakeholder/media mapping and monitoring, development of key messages, identification of message delivery platforms, stakeholder engagement and media relations
· Strong writing skills, with an excellent command of English
· Experience in producing high-quality communications materials
· Attention to detail and follow-through approach to tasks
· Organisational skills, multi-tasking and priority-setting to meet deadlines
· Self starter and team player


Requirements:
· Monitor media representation/special public perceptions to advise on business reputation opportunities and risks
· Undertake planned and ad hoc research
· Develop and maintain global messaging
· Develop and maintain global materials – web content (multi-media), presentations, brochures, images
· Identify proactive forward platforms – media announcements, media briefings, speaker opportunities, conference opportunities, articles/advertorials, events, advertising, reports
· Write news stories, releases, speeches, articles, briefing materials – for both external and internal communications
· Prepare communications plans and media statements for business issues
· Evaluate effectiveness of communications
