Chief of Party, Bangladesh Justice For All Program

The International Division of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Chief of Party for an anticipated Justice For All Program to be funded by USAID in Bangladesh.

The Chief of Party will oversee activities seeking to improve the delivery of legal aid, to increase the transparency and efficiency of judicial institutions, and to facilitate public awareness of legal rights and responsibilities. The Chief of Party will manage program technical and support staff, and oversee work planning, activity scheduling, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and serve as the principal representative of NCSC with USAID, program counterparts, and partners.

Founded 40 years ago by the leadership of the U.S. courts to deliver on the promise of Equal Justice Under Law, NCSC is a unique non-profit organization providing technical assistance, training, and technology to advance justice in the 50 U.S. states and around the world. Today, NCSC partners with donor agencies, host-country governments, and non-governmental organizations to improve the quality and efficiency of justice services.


Qualifications


  • Prior successful experience serving as a Chief of Party/Country Director for program initiatives seeking to improve the accessibility of legal aid services, increase the efficiency of judicial institutions, and raise awareness of legal rights and responsibilities.
  • Prior experience leading awareness, education and advocacy campaigns seeking to empower vulnerable populations, including women and youth.
  • Prior experience overseeing grant initiatives supporting the efforts of civil society and community-based organizations.
  • In-depth understanding of needs assessment processes, work planning, implementation scheduling, monitoring and evaluation and reporting.
  • Diplomatic demeanor; problem-solving skills; creativity; and flexibility needed to perform effectively in a politically sensitive work environment.
  • Professional experience in South Asia strongly preferred.
  • An advanced degree in law or other relevant field.
