Director of Asian Child Care Referral
ACCR&R Program Overview
CPC’s Asian Child Care Resource and Referral is a valuable service for immigrants and other working parents in choosing much needed child care services. ACCR&R makes referrals to family- and center-based child child and informs parents on licensing requirements and the availability of child care subsidies. We assists parents navigate New York City’s complex child care delivery system. We also serve as a portal to the child care field by helping family-based providers meet licensing requirements and professional standards through workshops, technical assistance and grants. CPC ACCR&R is a member of the New York City Child Care Resource & Referral Consortium.
Summary of Position:
The ACCR director oversees and manages the agency’s child care referral program. S/he will be the representative of Chinese-American Planning Council to funding sources, government agencies and community organizations. The director will work closely under the supervision of the Director of Community Services.
Responsibilities:
- · Responsible for Asian Child Care Referral program planning, management and development.
- · Lead and supervise an assigned team of minimally ten staff members.
- · Develop overall program plan, prepare reports and monitor progress of the program.
- · Interpret and devise program operation policies in order to assure services are provided in accordance with funding source standard.
- · Provide ongoing supervision and evaluation of the program staff.
- · Recruit staff and coordinate program training for employees.
- · Network with community organizations, employers, and government agencies regarding child care issues.
- · Provide community education and conduct presentations regarding CCR&R.
- · Work on special projects as assigned by the Director of Community Services.
- · Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Community Services.
Qualifications:
- · Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field plus minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- · Solid supervisory and team management abilities, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- · Ability to cooperatively work with a diverse staff.
- · Ability to interpret policy, and monitor adherence to policy.
- · Ability to manage a high degree of communication with multiple parties.
- · Demonstrated ability to prioritize, and negotiate numerous complex tasks simultaneously.
- · Good command of both written and oral English and Chinese.
- · Familiarity with the NYC Child Care System.
