Quality Assurance Analyst

The Information Technology department supports the organization’s work by providing reliable and scalable internal application development and infrastructure support for the IRC’s offices in the US and around the world, including many technologically challenging locations.
SCOPE
We’re looking for a professional QA Analyst who not only gets to be part of a great organization, but help make a difference in IRC’s mission. The QA Analyst will develop detailed test plans and conduct quality assurance tests on all releases of the IRC’s key enterprise-level applications, which include both proprietary and packaged solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take firm ownership for developing use cases and test plans for each iteration by working with Project Managers and Software Developers during all phases of our Agile software development lifecycle
- Test specific work items based on documented requirements, regress bugs, perform periodic end-to-end workflow tests
- Establish and maintain automated test scripts for appropriate test cases
- Report bugs and manage their resolution based on severity, priority and impact on delivery dates
- Prepare test cases for user acceptance testing and consolidate UAT results
- Assemble and present regular status reports
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience or equivalent with 5+ years of professional work experience as a software QA Analyst
- Experience with QA testing on enterprise-level software applications serving hundreds of users
- Proven ability to give input on business requirements, develop use cases, produce descriptive, reproducible defect reports and track overall progress toward deliverables
- Familiarity with an Agile methodology
- Proficiency with automated testing tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to effectively liaise with colleagues on all levels in a multicultural, fast-paced, detail-oriented environment (without losing a sense of humor)
- Strong proficiency with MS Office 2007
- Fast learner, creative problem solver
PLUSES
- Experience establishing a new QA practice, particularly in a nonprofit or startup
- Proficiency with Jira
- Familiarity with grants management, case management and/or HR information systems
This is a full-time position at our New York, NY headquarters. Relocation assistance is not available. Finalists will be required to provide a work sample.
