Director, Quality and Risk Management

PURPOSE
· Focus of the role is to identify, mitigate and manage the many operating risks inherent in the manufacturing site operations in order to protect the brands, people & company reputation
· Key focus on developing skills and capabilities necessary for ensuring compliance w/ gov legislation and policies & standards
· Lead the key Gov strategies for the site including Zero 6, HACCP, and ISO accreditation
· Internal auditing site facilities and operations to identify and quantify risks involved, and implementing robust action plans to eliminate or mitigate the risks
· Active participant in the manufacturing site leadership team, helping to provide strategic direction for the site, grow the capabilities of the workforce, and deliver key metrics in LTA, PPM Defect, OEE, and Schedule Adherence
· Lead efforts of site to deliver key projects: Line Strategy,COGS challenge, Innovation Portfolio safely, & right first time

DECISION MAKING
· Provide direction, resourcing, and decisions regarding the implementation of quality systems such ISO22000, HACCP, Global Finished Packaging Standards (GFPS), manage the ZERO 6 strategy, sustain the Environmental FY15 targets and overall, ensure Gov agenda continuously

MGMT RESPONSIBILITY
· Lead, develop, provides coaching for a team of Gov Professionals, reports includes several L5 roles/ L6 roles
·Track&report Gov KPIs (Quality, Environment, Risk)
· Lead identification, prioritization and timely resolution of safety & quality-related problems w/ manufacturing sites
· Provide expertise in the application of quality sys, diagnostic and improvement tools
· Works closely w/ members of site LT to share information and cooperate in joint improvement projects

COMPLEXITY
· Drive identification of cost-effective improvements; improve site continuous improvement and technical capabilities
Troubleshoot Supplier, production, and distribution issues ( GMP, HACCP, Root Cause Problem Solving RCPS, test procedures, lab mgmt, processing capability, operations, warehousing, shipping practices, and application of statistics and use of statistical software packages)
· Ensure compliance to the site Gov and Safety programs through internal audit & assurance
· Build and maintain partnerships w/ Brand Tech Cent, Procurement, NA Quality Org, and Supply Chain & communicating best practices

DELIVERABLES
·
Ensure site operates efficiently, adheres to Diageo Global Risk Mgmt Standards (GRMS)
· Support development of the culture and capability (including systems and technology) of site mgmt and operations teams to ensure the required levels of skills and competence in meeting above standards and agreed best practice
· Ensure business contingency plans are in place for the site and that they are adequately tested to provide business continuity
· Roll out/ embedding of key safety, quality, and environmental programs including Zero 6, SFIP, HACCP, and ISO throughout site processes and infrastructure
· Assure completion of corrective action plans to address audit findings, improvement opportunities, customer and consumer complaints
· Effective two-way communication cross all levels of the org
· Training and correct application of quality tools
Qualifications & Experience
7+ years direct Quality/ Manufacturing experience in beverages, food, packaging or a related industry.
In-depth knowledge of quality mgmt systems and risk mgmt w/in food or CPG production environment, including identification, assessment, control, crisis mgmt and bus recovery plan
Knowledge of internal processes and procedures and understanding of interfaces between Supply&Demand
Degree in a relevant physical science or engineering
Able to manage Global Risk Mgmt Standards and strong Quality Mgmt in consumer products required- Bottling experience strongly preferred
Leadership of Mgmt Systems across Quality and Assurance w/ specific experience in HACCP (required), FS 22K, and ISO 9001 (preferred)
Strong knowledge and understanding of Statistical Process Control
