CA Global: Medical (Africa Positions) has an international client who is looking for an experienced General Manager to head up their Diagnostic Centre in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 8 years’ experience in Pathology laboratory.
- At least 5 years Laboratory Management experience within a Clinical Pathology facility.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
- Knowledge of Medical Imaging an advantage.
- Financial/Business Management OR Supervisor Diploma or Certificate.
- Must be able to carry out administrative work accurately and timely.
- Must be able to write Monthly Board Reports on the activities of the Diagnostic Centre.
- Must have Advanced knowledge of Instrumentation and Methodologies.
- Must have Advanced knowledge of MS Office such as Excel and Word.
- Must have Advanced theoretical knowledge of test procedures.
- Must have Advanced understanding of Medical Pathology Procedures.
- Must have good communication, people management and customer service skills.
- Must have well developed numerical skills (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication,
- Division, Percentages and Ratios).
- National Diploma in Medical technology (Clinical Pathology) or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge in budget preparation and management thereof.
- Thorough knowledge of HR practices and disciplinary procedures required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the laboratory and Imaging Departments to ensure strategic goals are met.
- Compile and manage the budget in order to control expenses and ensure correct
- allocation of funds and to drive efficiency.
- Compile and manage short and long term strategic goals to ensure alignment with
- company objectives to obtain maximum effectiveness.
- Ensure efficient workflow in the laboratory and imaging department.
- Maintain good client relations in order to promote the image of ECOMED.
- Manage and monitor laboratory and imaging staff in order to ensure that the strategy
- goals of ECOMED are achieved.
- Manage QC procedures and accreditation processes.
- Must be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Perform operational management tasks in order to ensure operational efficiencies and
- constantly look for and introduce initiatives that will improve service levels.
- Process routine bench work in lab in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens if
- necessary.
