Head of Gas Transmission , Policy Ofgem

London, £66,000 - £74,000 p.a. (dependent on skills and expertise)
Glasgow, £60,600 - £68,400 p.a. (dependent on skills and expertise)
Based in London SW1 or Glasgow, Scotland

In this key role, you will lead the Gas Transmission Policy team, ensuring that the team thinks strategically about forthcoming policy issues, including those at European level, and that it communicates effectively across Ofgem. Following some recent changes, the team will also lead on gas distribution (use of system) charging policy. If you have experience of the gas industry, you will also play a leading role in ensuring that Ofgem uses its gas knowledge and expertise to best effect.

Key requirements

  • demonstrable ability to lead, manage, and develop a policy team
  • policy development skills
  • significant experience, knowledge and understanding of at least one of economic regulation and/or gas industry and markets
  • high quality written and oral communication skills
  • evidence of applying strategic thinking to particular roles
  • project management and ability to deliver high quality work to demanding timescales
