The University of Technology, Jamaica is an accredited, government run institution that provides educational programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels for a diverse student body. To continue our drive towards stimulating positive change in the Caribbean society through provision of high quality learning and research opportunities and service to our communities, we are seeking to identify a suitable candidate who can excel in the post of: Head of School, Joan Duncan School of Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership (College of Business and Management)

Reporting to the Dean of the College, the successful candidate will refine and set the direction for the rigorous entrepreneurship-based curriculum. Your primary role will be to provide high academic leadership and strategic direction of the School in research, teaching, consulting services, and community engagement consistent with the University’s and College’s vision and mission. In addition s/he will:

• Provide leadership and support on adopting research-proven, standards-based instructional practice

• Partner with industry leaders to refine, articulate and improve the entrepreneurship educational model

• Oversee the implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures, particularly in relation to teaching and research and student supervision including advisement.

IDEALLY, CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE:
• A PhD or an equivalent professional qualification in a discipline or related area
• Substantial experience in teaching and/or research experience at the senior lecturer level
• A proven record of academic administrative management with progressive levels of responsibility
• An ability to promote leadership and vision and effectively lead collaborative change
• A demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning , rigorous academic standards and to promoting an innovative teaching and learning environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Initial appointment will be for three years with provision for re-appointment.
