IELTS Professional Support Network Manager

Salary: £25,000 per annum plus London Market Allowance of £3,300 per annum

Attractive salary and benefits package, including 32 days’ leave, Civil Service pension arrangements, and benefits from a range of family-friendly policies.

The British Council is a world leader in cultural relations, building long-term relationships and trust between people in the UK and other countries, for mutual benefit. It operates in 110 countries through a wide range of programmes in English, education and society, and the arts. Our English business covers not only English teaching and teaching-related products but also enables students to sit English language and other professional examinations worldwide.

Our leading English examination is IELTS, the International English Language Testing System which is jointly owned by British Council, Cambridge ESOL and IDP IELTS Australia. IELTS is currently taken by around 1.5 million candidates around the world each year. The British Council delivers the IELTS test globally through a network of British Council offices, and independent test centres, typically universities or language schools

We are currently looking for a Professional Support Network (PSN) Manager. A key aspect of this post is ensuring that IELTS systems for managing examiners are maintained to a high standard. The post is responsible for the effectiveness of a dispersed team of examiner trainers and support co-ordinators. Working with a counterpart post within IDP Australia is also important, as is close co-operation with staff at Cambridge ESOL.

You are likely to have a background in English language teaching, an interest in assessment, and possibly experience of working as an IELTS examiner. You are a strong team player who enjoys delivering training when the opportunity arises – and can be relied upon to meet deadlines and produce accurate work under pressure.

The post holder will be a key member of a friendly, professional team of colleagues in the UK and abroad.
