Manager, Education Projects Project Unify - Asia Pacific Region

Special Olympics Project UNIFY is a youth leadership, education-based program that promotes schools of inclusion and acceptance using the sports and education initiatives of Special Olympics.
Special Olympics currently seeks a dynamic leader in the Asia Pacific Regionwith a passion for unleashing the energy of youth to be agents of change, promoting social inclusion in their communities and schools through the joy of sports. Based in Singapore the Project UNIFY Manager will lead the implementation of Project Unify for the Region. This position has overall responsibility for coordinating the engagement of external government and non-government organizations, educational entities and the education and youth leadership communities, and building sustainable partnerships to raise awareness, increase participation, ensure constant connections to and engagement of youth and those in education to support Project Unify. The Manager will establish and oversee a SOAP Project Unify Advisory Committee for Project Unify activities, including grant program evaluation and deliverables; develop committee structures, guidelines and operating principals for the SOAP Youth Advisory Committee, and participate in the establishment of a Regional Youth Activation Congress each year in association with the SOAP Regional Conference.
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ project management experience in a school-based environment working on large scale, multi-year projects with budget supervisory and evaluation responsibilities; demonstrated success designing and implementing educational resources for a wide age spectrum of youth, working in conjunction with school leaders, administrators and teachers, developing and managing educational, school and community partnerships. An understanding of youth activation and engagement principles and techniques is essential with proven ability to work and collaborate with culturally diverse community groups. Other key requirements include solid presentation skills and excellent communications skills, both verbal, written and consensus development with the ability to evaluate technical information and communicate to various audiences. Singapore citizenship or permanent resident required. A Bachelor's degree in education or education related field; graduate study or course work preferred; proficiency in Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel. Knowledge of Special Olympics and Special Olympics field experience a plus.
