MANAGER - NEW DONOR ACQUISITION ATLANTA, GA

CARE is seeking an experienced Manager of New Donor Acquisition to be responsible for developing and ensuring the successful implementation of the strategic plans and initiatives for all programs under their responsibility. The manager is responsible for acquiring 65,000+ new donors for the organization each year through direct mail. Additionally s(he) is responsible for researching and developing alternative methods and mediums for bringing new donors to the organization, and when necessary, working in collaboration with other CARE departments to implement new initiatives. The Manager is also responsible for the Reactivation program - a program designed to recapture lapsed donors. S(he) also is responsible for overseeing the creative development of Acknowledgements below the $5,000 giving level. The Manager is responsible for managing their program expense budgets and revenue performance, providing regular reporting to the Director of Direct Response Marketing. The Manager has responsibility to direct CARE’s outside agency(s), list brokers and managers, telemarketing agency(s) and modeling/analytics partners in CARE’s ongoing acquisition efforts. S(he) also supervises and directs the Direct Marketing Specialist(s) to ensure that all strategic plans are executed on schedule and within budget. S(he) collaborates with other departments who communicate to prospective supporters of CARE, especially with others in the direct response marketing department. S(he) is responsible for assuring that any new ventures are supported by CARE's internal services, including CARE’s Finance department , Communications department and Resource Development Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, lead, guide and support Specialist(s)
  • Develop strategic plan and coordinate direct mail Acquisition, direct mail/telemarketing Reactivation and direct mail Acknowledgement efforts
  • Develop and maintain a multi-million dollar program budget
  • Responsible for the management of all outside vendors and contracts related to program, including establishing and renewing contracts in collaboration with CARE's procurement and legal departments
  • Represent CARE's Direct Response Marekting department at external marketing meetings
  • Coordinate and oversee CARE's list rental/exchange business

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Liberal Arts or Public Relations, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education and experience
  • 6-8 years experience in increasingly responsible marketing positions
  • Work experience in marketing, market analytics, statistics and budgeting
  • Working knowledge of fundraising programs (direct mail, telemarketing, web, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent oral/ written communication skills

  • Supervisory skills - at least 2 years
  • Collaboration and team building skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
