MISSION VisionSpring is one of the world’s leading global social enterprise organizations. Our mission is to create jobs and sustain livelihoods through the sale of affordable eyeglasses to the more than 400 million people who need them to work and lead productive lives. VisionSpring India has established a solid distribution channel for delivering eyeglasses to low-income people in rural areas. We use retrofitted vans as mobile optical units managed by a team with diverse expertise in sales and marketing, optometry and behavioral change communications. RESPONSIBILITIES Become a passionate believer in the mission of the organization: restoring livelihoods and expanding individual productivity and income through the provision of eyeglasses. Drive business plan results – operating under the understanding that hitting goals is a requirement - and develop contingency plans to be successful despite any issues that might occur. Lead a motivated, experienced and empathetic staff that is determined to help the maximum number of people while achieving operational goals. Run operations as one model with best practices executed numerous times versus a loose network of individual stores all doing many different things: o Create and operate through optimized best practice employee customer interaction points and training models o Measure success by customer satisfaction, employee retention and service quality o Drive results through robust reporting and analysis o Continuous improvement: have three ‘big idea’ tests in place at all times that could enable us, if successful, to substantially improve the results from our efforts o Hire and retain results-oriented yet empathetic staff. SKILLS Strong English language skills Results-oriented Demonstrated leadership ability People-oriented Data-driven, with excellent technical skills Mission-driven. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. Must have experience in scaling a unit model to a network of at least 25-100 units. Comfortable traveling in any and all conditions throughout India. Experience working with foreign organizations a plus.
