Business Applications Analyst SABMiller
The role of the Business Application Analyst is to be responsible for the on-going operational support and maintenance of business applications that have been transitioned to the Group Application Services (GAS) Team.
The role will include the following key outputs, aligned to the ISOM:
• Supporting and maintaining Business Applications
• Implementing Change and Release Management for Business Applications
• Implementing Minor Enhancements and Bug Fixes
• Ensuring all Processes & Procedures are appropriately documented
• Other Responsibilities
Outputs and Accountabilities
Supporting and Maintaining Business Applications
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to Plc and Global users
• Investigate, assess and define user problems based on ITIL methodology
• Identify, manage and resolve common system issues
• Liaising with one or more 3rd party vendors to proactively drive effective resolution of incidents, task and problems
• Ensure the application environment is meeting the needs of the users, though analysis of recurring incidents and problem management
• Ensure application security is in line with business requirements and, where applicable, is SOX compliant
• Maintaining business application support queues, including monthly performance reporting and analysis
Implementing Change and Release Management for Business Applications
• Engage with stakeholders to understand the requirements and changes necessary
• Ensuring all change is document and tested, following a pre-agreed process
• Ensure all change is passed through the appropriate Change Authority for approval
• When required, ensure communication of maintenance releases is communicated to relevant parties
• Where required, ensure clear maintenance release notes are distributed to outsource partners ahead of maintenance
Implementing Minor Enhancements and Bug Fixes
• Ensure all minor enhancements or bug fixes are aligned to the ISOM and DPM processes
• Ensure all enhancements follow correct Change Control procedures, as detailed above
Ensuring all Processes & Procedures are appropriately documented
• Document support processes and procedures for managing Business Applications
• Ensure all SOX compliant processes are appropriately documented and procedures adhered to
• Documentation is version controlled and communicated to the relevant parties
Other Responsibilities
• This role requires a degree of flexibility as the incumbent will be required to complete updates out of hours, including unplanned high severity incident support or planned weekend application maintenance
• Working with vendors and ensuring quality of support contracts meets SABMiller requirements
• Facilitating with end user training for business application, as required
• Facilitating new project transition activity to add value in timely delivery of projects
Desired Skills & Experience
Knowledge & Experience Required
• Educated to university degree level (or equivalent qualification)
• ITIL qualification (at least to Foundation Level)
• Exposure to IT processes, methodologies and best practice
• Experience in Business Analysis and Application release management
• Proven experience in supporting and maintaining Business Applications
• Customer centric with great customer relation skills
• Experience in end user training
• Good organisational and time management skills
