Absa voted top Retail Bank by SA Icon Brands survey is seeking a Head Supply Chain Manager with strong leadership ability to direct and drive the continuous optimization of the Cash Supply chain across the bank to optimize serve and cost. (Including distribution management ATM planning and forecasting and demand management)

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer service levels through the delivery of the function and by fostering a customer centric culture within the team
  • Embed, manage and integrate the Cash supply chain throughout the bank
  • Manage the effective delivery of the ATM forecasting and planning, distribution and logistics and Cash facilities team
  • Provide the cash business unit with long term planning scenarios and models
  • Establish collaborative planning and supply chain meetings and forums with bank and industry role players
  • Stay abreast of economic trends and industry trends related to the Cash Supply Chain and ensure the team is aligned
  • Maintain and optimize the annual ATM demand forecasting and overall logistics management
  • Identify and set profitability performance indicators from a Supply Chain perspective aligned to the overall Cash
  • Identify and communicate strategies to achieve the Supply Chain targets
  • Identify cost saving initiatives across the supply chain and develop business plans, proposals, forecast
  • Drive the delivery of the team against set annual and long term targets
  • Implement long term strategies to continuously improve the Cash distribution cost
  • Analyze industry trends and operational trends
  • Drive systems and improvement
  • Ensure planning processes are aligned to “best practice”
  • Formalize event planning (innovation) through collaboration throughout the bank
  • Evaluate and recommend planning solutions in Absa Cash Solutions.
  • Assess the impact of innovation on the supply chain
  • Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:

  • workforce and recruitment demand planning
  • recruitment
  • talent management and succession planning
  • mentoring and coaching
  • management of discipline and grievances
  • performance development
  • reward and recognition management
  • training and development

  • Review and update the departments organisation structure and role profiles regularly
  • Ensure that Code of Good Practice targets are met for the team
  • Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams
  • Manage cost within approved budget
  • Ensure compliance to policies, legislation and regulations and that staff compliance training and attestations are in place

Minimum Requirements:

  • B Tech Engineering or B. Eng or B.SC. or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher
  • Ten (10) years experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Three (3) years experience in Management
  • Three (3) years experience in process and system improvements
  • Four (4) years experience in an analytical roles
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
  • No criminal record

Preferred Requirements:

  • B. Eng (Hon) or B.SC (Hon) or MBA or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
  • Five (5) years experience in Supply Chain Management in FMCG
  • Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
