Legal Counsel Shell - Perth
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely legal advice in regard to SDA’s various business activities including: advising on the structure of new joint ventures and ongoing legal issues/disputes associated with SDA’s existing joint venture governance arrangements, providing legal support and advice for petroleum acquisitions and divestments, advising on the marketing and sales of LNG and pipeline gas, providing legal support for SDA's exploration activities, including contracting and procurement, advising on corporate matters such as legal compliance, issues associated with facilities management, HSSE and employee relations and managing the provision of legal services by external law firms where required.
Desired Skills & Experience
As Legal Counsel in Shell's upstream business, you will be involved in the following areas: identification of major legal issues and provide legally sound solutions for all areas within atypical transactions, recognise potential areas of legal and commercial risk in typical transactions, recognise when issues require greater experience and seek appropriate guidance, recognise where specialist legal advice is required, and obtain it effectively, translate the clients’ needs and agreed actions into coherent and legally effective documents, demonstrate commercial and financial acumen, negotiate in a firm fashion and draft well, convey pro-active advice to clients to minimise legal risk and maximise business opportunities, develop and sustain relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders, cope with pressure and where necessary adopt a flexible approach.
You must as a minimum be admitted to practice in an Australian State or Territory
