Overview

The Global Product Consumer Credit Group focuses company-wide efforts in driving overall transaction volume and profitable revenue growth for MasterCard's Consumer Credit portfolios in the region. This group actively collaborates with internal teams across MasterCard, and external parties including customers (the Issuers), merchants, and new strategic alliance partners to build innovative global product solutions targeted to capturing current and future card spending volume.

The Business Leader Product Development & Management will have accountability for developing, sourcing & managing affluent experiential benefits in these clusters, as well as the go-to-market strategy, to ensure usage and exemplary consumer experience thereby building preference for MCW affluent products. The individual will also be responsible for managing the product life cycle of the existing affluent & core programs and for supporting Product Sales and Business Development Managers with presentations and customized product development requests. Individual will work closely with the global credit team and cluster product sales teams to ensure alignment with the customer-focused strategy.

Major Accountabilities

• The individual is accountable for MasterCard's competitive positioning and differentiation in product innovation within the consumer credit in the clusters and develop product benefits/ solutions which would be core to the affluent products to deliver a superior edge to MasterCard Products in the clusters. Will have responsibility for cost management and delivery of these benefits with quantified metrics tied to customer plans
• Accountable for incorporating customer planning as well as the requirements for innovation and competitive positioning into the cluster prioritization of product initiatives
• Coordinate with the global product team to identify best practices and manage a balance between global product standards and local requirements
• Monitor the landscape of competitive products and industry trends, understanding their implications for MasterCard and suggest action steps as required
• Ensure the development of innovative and differentiated product benefits to meet current and emerging needs of MasterCard customers
• Develop a 'Life Cycle Management' approach to constantly enhance/ modify/ upgrade products & benefits in line with market/ issuer/ segment needs to ensure maximum profitability to MasterCard through usage and retention
• Collaborate with Consumer and Customer Marketing leadership to support the launch of programs & benefits within the clusters as well as work with the Marketing team in development of any collateral as required by the clusters
• Create and maintain a library of best practices and case studies on product development to be shared with Product Sales, Account Teams and Customers
• Develop presentations to proactively update & sell to issuers product opportunities/ innovations, market trends, & MC advancements in product innovation
• Support Product Sales and Account Teams in the creation of value propositions that leverage key features of existing and / or new product platforms from MC
• Support Sales Teams with customized product development requests
• Must demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills
• Demonstrate proven ability to develop and successfully implement, quantifiable business plans
• Industry knowledge and networking especially in merchant relationships/ commerce development

• Customer focus with extensive knowledge of customer profitability drivers and consumer usage drivers

Key Qualifications:
• Knowledge of MasterCard credit products and services
• 8-10 years experience in successfully developing and launching new products targeting the premium/affluent market
• Understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends
• Ability to oversee multiple projects and initiatives concurrently
• Experience with strategic and business planning
• Negotiating skills
• Proven experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional role
• Team player with the ability to clearly articulate strategy
• Outstanding communication/presentation skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. MBA preferred
