Whatever our identities – the combination of gender, sexuality, race, religion, ethnicity and others no-one should be discriminated against as a result of their identity. Amnesty International (AI) is working to end human rights abuses directed at those with multifaceted identities. Your challenge will be to make sure we have the maximum impact.
About the role
Leading the development and implementation of campaigning strategies on a transnational and global basis, you’ll manage and coordinate actions on human rights related to Gender, Sexuality & Identity. That means working across the movement to get the full strength of AI behind relevant events and initiatives. And that’s just the start. As well as delivering an integrated, strategic approach to Gender, Sexuality & Identity within Amnesty International, you’ll grow our relationships with other NGOs and external partners. Devising high quality on- and offline campaigning materials to enhance advocacy on human rights with key stakeholders, you’ll be key to ensure that our recommendations are adopted by a wide array of organisations. You’ll also research the most effective campaigning methods and evaluate our strategies and plans. In short, you’ll increase our influence and take us closer to our goal of achieving equality for all.
About you
In addition to specialist knowledge of gender, sexuality and identity, you’ll have proven your ability to plan campaigning strategy, develop objectives and mobilise a diverse range of audiences. You’ll also be a practised project manager, with a strong knowledge of budgeting, monitoring, evaluation and risk identification. Confident presenting externally and experienced in influencing others, you’ll combine your organisational talents with an ability to inspire and engage those around you. So as well as being able to manage competing demands, you’ll have the written and verbal communication skills needed to achieve results.
About us
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
