Position: Business Development Manager
(Latin American, Caribbean and US Markets)
Location: New York, New York
Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager researches markets, clients, and competitors and performs internal strategic and financial analyses of business development proposals in the Latin American, Caribbean and US markets. This role will have project management responsibility for discrete small and medium sized Business Development projects and will work with the Senior Vice President of Business Development on projects of scale.
Business Development as defined in the Region is not solely confined to merger, acquisition and disposal activity. Given the nature of the business in the Americas, there are a significant number of commercial partnership projects in development (trade mark licensing agreements, distributor appointments etc.) which necessitate a business understanding in addition to the core capabilities of finance and strategy.

Reports directly to: SVP, Business Development
Interacts with: Finance, Legal, Commerce, Group Business Development
Responsibilities:
- Conducts extensive company and industry analysis, field research, economic/demographic studies, or other appropriate research; organizes and analyzes data to determine new areas of business growth
- Assesses and conducts studies, prepares reports, and gives advice on feasibility, cost effectiveness, and growth potential of long- and short-range strategic plans, proposals, and projects to achieve profitability objectives
- Develops complex, dynamic financial models as input to valuation analysis, and merger consequences
- Provides key support for due diligence including leading multi-disciplinary teams to review potential acquisition targets, preparing proposals and presentations to the executive board
- Ensures that partnership agreements are executed on-time and in-line with initial assumptions and criteria
- Establishes best practices by tracking trends and performance of competitors, synthesizing opportunities into investment theses and proposals
Desired Skills & Experience
Profile:
Education: Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
Experience: 3-5 years experience in consulting and/or Finance/investment banking in an international setting experience with heavy emphasis on M&A and financial valuation
Know-How: Strong project management, financial valuation and analytical skills, strong written and verbal skills
Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish is required
Travel requirements: Up to 50%
