Job Purpose

As an Estate Planning Consultant you will be responsible for making a thorough analysis of a clients assets and liabilities and to conduct an Estate Plan that takes into consideration the clients intention whilst at the same time, limits the obligation for the payment of Estate Taxes, utilizing the Will as a core product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a set income target that is related to New Wills, Estate Planning and consultation fees with the clients of Private Bank and where appropriate the affluent sub-segment of Retail Bank
  • Ensure the quality inflow of new segmented business from distribution channels
  • Ensure that the income from New Paid Wills are equated to the sale of New Wills
  • Ensure sales targets are met within targeted distribution channels
  • Complete Wills on the Chameleon System and when necessary send complex Will Applications directly to the Wills Drafting Office
  • Review Will Applications received via other channels
  • Ensure that a proper Estate Plan is executed for the client
  • Maximise the safe custody of signed Wills by training Private Bank and Retail delivery channels in terms of importance of having customers Wills in safe keeping
  • Ensure that the signed Will is filed in the Safe Custody office within the agreed turnaround time
  • Advise and where applicable, create a Trust either Living or Intervivos depending on the needs of the client
  • Ensure personal sales targets are met after mutual agreement

Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • B Degree in Law or LLB or BProc or BJuris or Certified Financial Planning or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher
  • Five (5) years experience in Fiduciary Industry, in deceased estates, trust or Wills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
  • No criminal record

Preferred Requirements

  • Honours or Masters Degree in Tax or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification or higher
  • Advanced Certified Financial Planner or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification or higher
  • Five (5) years in Estate Planning field
  • Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
