The successful candidate will lead the breeding, research and variety development of High Zinc Rice for Bangladesh. Participate in the development of the variety release strategy and seed deployment plan. Lead and supervise the selection of BRRI dhan 29 GR-2 lines for CFT, MLT, biosafety approval and varietal release.



Duties

• Breeding and development of high zinc rice varieties adapted to Bangladesh

• Evaluation of advanced high zinc breeding lines and candidate varieties for release
• Conduct G x E experiments in coordination with IRRI soil chemist and Biofortification breeder
• Leading and supervising the selection of the final BRRI dhan 29 GR2-R lines for CFT, for MLTs, and for biosafety approval and for varietal release
• Leading and supervising the introgression and development of Aman and secondary Boro season varieties with the GR2-R trait
• Managing and reporting against the HarvestPlus and Golden Rice budgets

Qalification requirements:
• PhD in Plant breeding, genetics or agronomy
• Rice breeding, phenotypic data management, G x E Analysis
• Conducted and managed field trials in rice and G x E experiments and data analysis
