Big Data Technical Sales Specialist (Vivisimo)


As a Big Data Technical Sales Specialist, you are IBM’s technical consultant to our clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. You will learn the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape and apply industry-specific knowledge and experience to bring new business and technology insights to your assigned clients.

Key Capabilities and Responsibilities
1) Catalyze and Drive Big Data Market Opportunity
- Proactively seek out new sales opportunities by developing new and existing technical relationships within accounts and prospects.
- Establish effective working relationship with sales executives, management and technical team members.
- Participate in sales forecasting and opportunity management process.
- Support and represent Big Data at partner seminars and industry trade shows.

2) Leverage technical knowledge to drive Big Data sales
- Understand client requirements, pain points, and provide technical sales support to IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions;
Develop and deliver technical education , demos and training to customers and partners on both technical product details, and "pre-sales" positioning.
Deliver Proof of Concept, design integrated solutions that includes IBM Big Data product portfolio
Maintain trial / evaluation scope control and success criteria
Assist customer in business case justifications and needs analysis.
Understand criteria needed to close the sales opportunity and work with sales team to solidify the commitment.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of different architectural approaches to warehousing and enterprise search applications
Experienced in Enterprise Content applications across multiple types of structured and unstructured content
Extensive background in Web technologies, both infrastructure (including x86 Server platforms, Windows Server and Linux operating system expertise, Web Servers - Apache, IIS) as well as protocols ( Java /.Net, XML, XSL, etc.).
Software Industry experience required.
Strong presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high quality product demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences. Must exhibit ability to speak in front of large audiences.
Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting.


Strongly Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, engineering discipline preferred.
Knowledge of competitive offerings in the Big Data and Information Optimization space , Enterprise Search industry background desirable, but not required. Enterprise application experience (ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence, etc) also would be a desirable fit. Security and systems-level software experience would also be considered.
Competent in engaging, negotiating, discussing, and presenting with C-level Executives
Experience with a formal sales process
Strong communication and leadership skills
Track record in software sales , and managing complex sales cycles with demonstrated success of appropriately utilizing company resources to close business, experience in managing client expectations and customer satisfaction

  • English: Fluent

Preferred
  • Experience with products in the Enterprise Application Software solutions : Mastered
