Research Staff Member - High Performance Computing and Computational Sciences

The BRL – Brazilian Research Lab, is seeking a Research Staff Member - RSM. This is the title given to most of the scientists working in the IBM research Division around the world. This scientist will be involved with the vanguard of High Performance Computing arena, including but not limited to Computational Mathematics, Computational Physics, Computational Chemistry, Computational Engineering, Computational Biology, Computational Geosciences, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Complex Systems Simulation, Complex Algorithms Implementation, etc. The candidate must be willing and devoted to face complex problems, for which the scientific research is a promising way of finding the adequate solutions. Flexibility to work in a collaborative multi-cultural global team is essential. Interpersonal communication skills and innovative spirit will be appreciated. Required •Masters degree [MsC national equivalent degree] •English: Intermediate, but enough to guarantee technical communication over the phone and in videoconferences Preferred: •PhD or national equivalent degree •Graduation in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or Computer Sciences •Former experience in research projects connected with the production of added value in a public or private company •Familiarity with HPC applications and Computational Sciences methods & models •Fluent English
