Deloitte East Africa provides seamless cross-border services to multinationals, large national enterprises, small and medium sized enterpreises and the public sector, across 3 countries of the region: Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.
Deloitte Tanzania has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join our building Organizational Capacity for Results (BOCAR) program in the role of Deputy Project Director.
The BOCAR program is a 5 years project funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other multi-donor to implement capacity Building activities. It is managed by Deloitte as the prime and East African support unit for NGO's (EASUN).
As a Director you will be focusing on the following:
- Supervise project staff to ensure effective program delivery
- Oversee project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and to ensure that measurable outcomes are attained
- Ensure clear communication with donors and the steering committee
- plan and manage project budgets
- Prepare regular reports on project activities for donors and the steerintg committee.
- Represent the project inmeetings with Government officials, donors and partner organizations.
- Perform other duties related to overseeing duties for the project as may be required
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Business Administration or public health or any other related field.
- An MBA will be an added Advantage
- Must have proven ability to ensure high quality program outcomes with high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to interact with senior government officials and donor representatives to ensure coordinated efforts.
- Skills to initiate and implement project activities with minimum oversight and supervision
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in a credible and effective way with variety of professionals strong organizational skills, attentive to details and ability to work on both strategic and operational level.
Other relevant Skills/Experience
- Minimum 10-15 years' experience, with at least 7 years direct international experience, designing and implementing sustainable economic strengthening/livelihoods programming in developing countries.
- Experience working in collaboration with local government partners like Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS), Zanzibar Aids Commission (ZAC) and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) in mainland and Zanzibar.
- Experience working with US donor funded programs is highly preferred
- Experience in working with other international donors and multinational organizations on a coordinated program effort in developing country setting. Demonstrated cultural and diversity awareness.
