This is an excellent career development opportunity for teacher trainers to broaden their academic and professional skills. The post holder will be part of a project which aims to deliver quality development opportunities for primary and secondary English language teachers working in Malaysian government schools in order to develop their English language proficiency and teaching skills and knowledge and monitor and support their ongoing professional development.

The post-holder will provide cluster training and support using British Council global products to a core group of 80 teachers working in state schools in Malaysia. Working independently and sometimes in remote and/or rural locations this post will suit autonomous self-starters looking to make a difference in a unique working context and location.

It has not been determined which states in Malaysia the posts will be located but each trainer will be responsible for training in two schools/venues not more than 45 minutes away from each other by taxi or public transport.

To be considered you will have an undergraduate degree and a CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL, or a Diploma level EFL qualification i.e. Cambridge DELTA/TrinityDipTESOL, together with 5 years of relevant teaching experience as specified on the role profile along with experience of e-moderation. You must also have a high proficiency in English.

Under Malaysian Law we are only able to obtain work permits for those who are between the ages of 22 and 60 and who hold at least an undergraduate degree.

Note: Staff currently employed on the ELTDP Malaysia project are not eligible to apply for these posts within their first year of employment without prior approval in writing from the Project Manager/Project Director.
