The Bernal Project
A strategic objective of the University of Limerick is to build on its worldwide reputation in Applied Science and Engineering and contribute to economic, social and cultural development at a regional and national level. In pursuit of this objective, the University has initiated its innovative Bernal Project, which focuses on the further development of the following research areas:
  • Pharmaceutical Science and Engineering
  • Modern Materials, Biomedical Materials and Engineering
  • Energy and Sustainable Environment
As part of the continued implementation of the Bernal Project, the University seeks to recruit Senior Academic Research Leaders in Applied Science and Engineering with the ability to motivate, attract, mentor and work with a large cohort of academic staff and researchers. Typically, each Senior Academic Research Leader will work in dedicated state-of-the-art research facilities with a range of academic staff and researchers, leading to a research cohort of 140-180 people.

Salary Scale: €113,604 - €145,952 p.a.
