CONTRACT:Permanent
LOCATION: Central London
CLOSING DATE: Monday 19th November 2012
INTERVIEWS: Thursday 29th November 2012
At ActionAid we've undergone significant planned change to ensure we are better positioned to deliver lasting solutions to the problems of global poverty. A new structure and fresh thinking has re-energised the organisation.  We've now created fantastic career opportunities for experienced sector professionals who want to be part of an organisation that is delivering a bold strategy to provide sustained improvements to the poorest and most excluded people in the world. Join our action to end poverty now and be part of something truly amazing.
Our 2012-17 strategy sets ambitious objectives. Securing improved livelihoods for one million women, improving food security for 25 million people and mobilising 5 million young people to take sustained action towards building a poverty free planet are among them. You will help ensure they’re achieved.

As a member of our UK Senior Leadership Team, you’ll be the chief professional advisor to our Executive Director and Board of Trustees on finance and central resources, and the person ultimately responsible for this part of our operation. You’ll help us make the best use of our resources by achieving the highest levels of efficiency and accountability, and ensuring the decisions we take and priorities we establish give the greatest support to our aims. You’ll lead the development of our financial strategy and annual budgeting processes and ensure the efficient delivery of all aspects of finance, IT, facilities management and procurement.
To be successful you’ll need to be a champion of our values, mission and ways of working. Your impressive record in a senior role shows you have a strong understanding of corporate leadership together with the management of financial and accounting services. It proves you can do all the things asked of you in this role: that you know how to formulate, implement and control strategic direction, are skilled at getting the best from a large team and budget, and have an extraordinary ability to win support from the widest range of people. You are ready to have a major influence on our work and help make a better world.
