French-to-English translator

Main responsibilities

As a member of a motivated team of professional translators based in Geneva, Switzerland, the successful candidate will translate and revise a wide range of texts in a variety of styles (operational reports and legal documents, web articles, etc.) from French into English. He or she will also edit texts written in English.

Required Profile

• university degree or equivalent in translation (with English as the "A" language) from a recognized academic institution
• at least five years of experience in translation
• at least two years of experience in revising and editing

Selection criteria

• English mother tongue
• excellent English-language writing skills
• advanced knowledge of French, other languages an asset
• robust approach to translation and editing
• strong interpersonal skills
• solid computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• familiarity with CAT tools (particularly Trados and terminology tools)
• knowledge of international law or related fields an asset

Minimum length of assignment:   2 years, renewable 

Activity rate: 80%
