Several vacancies may be filled. This position is expected to be available as of now and in 2013, subject to its approval within the 2013 Programme and Budget by the Conference of States Parties.

Principal FunctionsRequirements
Under the supervision of the ISB End-user Support Supervisor, the incumbent performs the following duties:

End-User support:
• First line support of Information Technology (IT) related problems and issues, as per applicable guidelines.
• Deploys client PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, and other hardware to the Organisation during large deployment projects; participates in user moves and mass deployment of computer hardware and peripherals, keeping the inventory clerk up-to-date with such changes
• Provides assistance in the setting-up and configuration of ICT hardware, software, and services; helps building various IT test environment for ongoing projects; performs routine technical tasks as appropriate;
• Assists the IS AUS Unit in the set-up and tearing-off and bringing back to the HQs the necessary IT equipment for the Conference of the State Parties. Assist and Support the users during the CSP at WFCC, as well as the HQ, troubleshooting IT related issues;
• Participates and assists in hardware / software migration, upgrade, deployment, and other ICT projects as needed.

System Administration:
• Performs routine server administration tasks, such as backups, health checks, housekeeping
• Performs Windows Active Directory administrative tasks, such as access administration
• Assists in troubleshooting and/or the resolution of 2nd level support tasks
• Assists in projects linked to the server/network infrastructure of the OPCW.

General (applicable to both sub-functions described above):
• Maintains a high-quality and up-to-date documentation; continuously updates the relevant self-help and knowledgebase references;
• Monitors Issue Tickets and other requests for help in view of meeting target Service Level Agreements of the Branch.

Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
· High school diploma or equivalent diploma of secondary education,
· Demonstrated knowledge of PCs, peripheral hardware (such as printers, and scanners), Microsoft Operating Systems (desktop and servers), MS-Office suite, and Lotus Notes/Domino client software;
· Ability to troubleshoot PCs in a network environment;
· Demonstrated knowledge of providing first and second line IT support.
· Excellent team player abilities, sharing information, participating in meetings, cooperating in projects and supporting colleagues when required.

Required Certification:
· Microsoft MCP

Desirable:
· Additional training courses in the area of IT support, technology and networking, such as Windows, Windows Server, CISCO.
Experience
Essential:
· At least 4 years of related progressive experience in providing IT end user support and/or troubleshooting PCs in a network environment.

Desirable:
· Experience managing Windows servers/ Active Directory
· Previous experience within an international organisation.
· Additional certifications in the field of ICT, Governance and Project Management.
· Experience in highly secure and confidential environment
Languages
Fluency in English is essential and a good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
Annual Salary
Total annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes and before medical insurance and provident fund deductions)
