Resource Mobilization Officer – Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Uganda

Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) established in 1995, is Uganda’s apex body for the private sector. It is made up of 168 business associations, corporate bodies and the major sector agencies that support private sector growth to date and offers a range of services to its members including among others:
  • Becoming part of a larger body professionally working together to influence policy making processes that stimulates and spurs growth of private business in Uganda
  • Involvement and participation in various business fora, sector working groups on issues affecting the private sector
  • Increased exposure to business opportunities in East Africa and beyond
  • Getting regular and first-hand information on East African Community and other trading in the world.
PSFU’s Vision:
To be the Lead Partner in Private Sector Development PSFU’s Mission: To strengthen private sector capacity for effective policy advocacy and market competitiveness PSFU’s Mandate:
  • Carry out policy research and advocacy on behalf of the private sector
  • Provide a forum for the discussion of policy issues, and the impact of those policies on the private sector in Uganda
  • Maintain a positive dialogue with Government on behalf of the private sector
  • Undertake capacity building for the private through training and the provision of business development services
PSFU wishes to recruit staff to fill the position below:
Resource Mobilization Officer – Based In Kampala Office
The major task under this contract is to initiate and develop avenues for income generation aimed at enhancing the sustainability of PSFU.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement a Resource mobilization strategy for PSFU
  • Review existing fee earning activities (in all departments) for PSFU and recommend strategies on how they can be enhanced.
  • Develop fee earning products for PSFU and also offer technical advice in their implementation.
  • Develop other income generating activities for PSFU and offer technical advice in the mobilization of resources for such activities.
  • Develop, maintain and update a detailed database of consultants, partners and donors for potential partnership and collaboration in various PSFU initiatives.
  • Develop fee based products that support corporate companies and development partners in rolling out and creating awareness of their various products to the Private sector in the respective sectors.
  • Initiate PSFU participation in the bidding processes/ proposal preparation for undertaking projects that are in line with the mandate of PSFU
  • Perform any other duties assigned in line with the activities as requested by your supervisor.

Requirement:

  1. Minimum of a Masters Degree in any of the following fields: Business Administration, Economics, Project Management or related field.
  2. Working experience of at least three years in a similar field.
  3. Proven experience in resource mobilization in a similar working environment.
  4. Proven experience of in proposal writing and preparation of bid documentation
Contract period
  • Initially for a period of one year with a probation period of 3 months. Renewable subject to satisfactory performance upon satisfactory performance.
Reporting: Report directly to the Director Member Services PSFU
