Senior Accountant - Fund Accounting Norges Bank Investment Management

Senior Accountant – Fund Accounting

NBIM is looking to hire a dedicated and skilled Senior Accountant to join the Fund Accounting group, which is part of the Corporate Planning and Finance department. The group is responsible for the accounting and external IFRS financial reporting of the Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG) and the long term foreign exchange reserves.

The position is located in Oslo.

Main Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation of holdings in financial instruments and other investments
• Monthly closing of general ledger for portfolios managed to finalise financial statements, including preparing manual vouchers and performing key controls
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial reporting, including disclosure notes
• Follow-up external outsourcing partners to ensure fit-for-purpose and efficient services
• Handle and structure data from internal and accounting systems 
• Ensure a robust accounting operating model, including efficient and simplified transaction flows supported by a strong control infrastructure
• Participate in improvement projects concerning financial accounting and reporting

Main Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in accounting/ finance/ business administration with strong academic records
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience, preferably from accounting, auditing or financial institutions
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with handling large amounts of data
• Knowledge of financial instruments and various asset classes is an advantage
• Accounting/ portfolio/datawarehouse system knowledge is an advantage
• Structured and accurate with the ability to take initiative and responsibility
• Ability to work well both in a team and independently
• Strong communication skills and working proficiency in written and spoken English and Norwegian
