Technology, Projects and Drilling (TPD) aims to provide safe, efficient and cost competitive global well and project deliveries. The TPD projects (PRO) cluster has a global mandate for planning and executing excellent projects. Our overall project power is strengthened by gathering all good forces in one project entity for global deliveries from early phase to completion. TPD PRO is looking for experienced people for our facility development projects. The project locations are mainly Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo. Our project portfolio of international prospects is increasing and so are opportunities to take on short and long term assignments globally.
The planning engineers are organised in the planning and analysis section. This section is the resource owner for the planners and schedulers in the development projects, providing this expertise to projects globally. Currently the section comprises 34 employees. Some of our groundbreaking projects include Snøhvit and Ormen Lange. We are now working on several large projects, both in Norway and internationally, such as Peregrino in Brazil, Gudrun in Norway and the Leismer project in Canada.
You will have a steep learning curve and you are expected to develop an overall understanding of project development and control in Statoil and our business challenges. Your exact assignment and development plan will be made on the basis of your field of expertise, your interests and our business needs.

Job description

  • In close cooperation with topside/ commissioning managers, ensure that the project is completed in accordance with project targets
  • Participate in the tender process for the topside contracts, ensure that planning principles are used to control contracts and purchasing in preparation of Appendix C, D and G, and the evaluation of bids.
  • Establish and maintain plans for offshore installation, commissioning and start-up for production
  • Establish and update a detailed work package schedule for commissioning work onshore and all project related work at the completion site
  • Follow up topside contracts with regard to planning
  • Provide weekly / monthly progress reporting of the project based on contractors' input
  • Follow up and ensure active management of plans, milestones, critical path and risks
  • Monitoring float development within the schedules and between contracts (CPIs)
  • Report due dates for materials to onshore base and offshore
  • Coordinate internal and external interfaces and follow up procurement with regard to delivery dates and vendor data (towards engineering)
  • Maintain vendor (ATS) and subcontractor call-off plan as part of the onshore commissioning plan and the ICC (integrated construction and completion) plan
  • Issue offshore installation schedules and manpower forecast reports to onshore and offshore management
  • Issue weekly installation (offshore scope) and commissioning progress report
  • Communicate plans and status to project members
  • Active participation in planning discussions with project management, the project organisation and suppliers
  • Coordinate the various project areas or contracts to ensure optimal use of time and money
  • Coordination in the project organisation including sub-project planners and suppliers
  • Establish and evaluate input to the risk management process from contractors
  • Evaluate risk issues with possible schedule effects and be involved in defining mitigation measures and evaluate their potential success
  • Provide input to the risk management process
  • Facilitate verification of project planning and progress monitoring at contractor’s site
  • Contribute to the bi-yearly baseline updates (CCS)
  • Monitoring schedule change control
  • Exchange experience and benchmarking with other projects internally
  • Contribute to experience transfer feedback on templates and governing documents

Qualifications

  • College/university, Master's degree (relevant experience can compensate for lack of education)
  • Fluent written and oral English skills
  • Additional language skills are an advantage
  • At least five years of experience
