Background / General description:

The Global Trade and Supply Chain department (CTG) was created in 2010 to build on the success of IFC‘s flagship trade program, GTFP. The department manages all of IFC’s trade finance related products and programs like the Global Trade Liquidity Program (GTLP), Critical Commodities Finance Program (CCFP), Global Trade Supply Finance (GTSF), Global Trade Warehouse Finance (GTWF) , Global Distributor Trade Finance (GDTF), Structured Trade Finance and other new products being developed to meet short term finance needs of IFC clients in Emerging Markets.



All products under CTG department are managed by two CTG Operations Centers based in Washington and Istanbul offices. The Global Head of Operations based in Istanbul is overall in-charge of both Operations Centers and is supported by Operations Supervisor based in each location.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The CTG Operations Team is responsible for managing projects under various CTG products. The duties and functions assumed by the Operations Team is wider than typical “middle-office” functions as understood in the commercial world (i.e. duties go beyond the investment booking, reconciling, reporting and accounting, and compliance functions). The Operations Analyst will serve as a key member of the team in the overall operational activities of the projects which are managed both on portfolio basis as well as on transaction by transaction. 

The Operations Analyst will report to the Operations Supervisor based in Washington DC. 



Responsibilities of the position will include but is not limited to the following:

- Managing the portfolio supervision of assigned products which includes (i) quickly familiarization with the project structure (ii) stay on top of the status of the project and partners (iii) covenants and eligibility criteria of each assigned project; (iv) data integrity check (v) analysis and review of monthly portfolio reports received from utilization banks to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria e.g. EMIB exposure limit, country exposure limits, sector exposure limits, public sector limits, overall risk participation limits, eligibility of goods supported etc;

- Preparing a detailed compliance report every month showing all required results, cleared by Operations Supervisor;

- Formalizing of process and coordinating with respective departments/units for the proper tracking of DOTs indicators;

- Validating the calculation of interest and guarantee fees received under each assigned projects. Closely co-ordination with Utilization Banks or Corporates to ensure the timely payment of all receivables under the agreement;

- Preparing other various reports using Excel or other applications to maintain a quality database and filing system for financial risk management and compliance tracking;

- Coordinating with various departments within IFC to ensure the smooth operation of the assigned projects and proper management of operational risk.

- Reviewing the request of adding new issuing banks and corporate in the project and coordinating with the colleagues within the team, region and CRV for getting the required clearances for credit limits;

- Involved in preparation of operational manual of new products being developed;

- Coordinating closely with CFA, Trust Funds and SLM for issues related to processing, billing, and reporting;

- Coordinating the reconciliation process among the different systems on a regular basis;

- Coordinating with products development teams in early stage of project processing to ensure smooth transitioning of projects from Investment stage to Portfolio stage.

- Communicating with utilization banks to maintain the relationship and/or to address any query they have or for any clarification needed on the portfolio;

- Preparing various internal/external reports and presentations;

- Performing other duties as requested by the Supervisor and Global Head of Operations
Selection Criteria:
- A bachelor’s degree with a major in business administration, accounting, finance, computer technology and systems design with some experience in related fields, e.g. commercial loan processing/administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Knowledge of IFC/IBRD systems (i-Desk and MIS proficiency), procedures (in particular, IFC Project Supervision Procedures), and documents a strong plus.

- Strong analytical, administrative and organizational skills 

- High degree of proficiency in various computer applications e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point

- Ability to work in a team environment with good interpersonal and communications skills; 

- Ability to work under pressure.

- High degree of motivation, flexibility, and reliability

- Fluency in written and spoken English.
