Department

BBC Wales’ Technology Support department is responsible for providing technical support on a myriad of systems, aiding the production and broadcast of television and radio programmes to consumers throughout the United Kingdom. We currently support a user base of over 1500 staff across 9 sites, 22 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Role

Broadcast Technologists may work as part of a team or work independently to maintain the required service. You will carry out engineering tasks that are complex and for which full technical information may not be available. They are required to repair faults quickly or to identify and implement alternative ways of providing programme requirements to overcome technical problems and maintain the continuity of work in the production area.

Requirements

Experience in supporting Radio Editing systems, Apple Mac and editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Radio Studios and associated equipment is desirable. The ideal candidate will also have experience in supporting Television Studios, Post-Production systems. You should also have an understanding of networking, TCP/IP and high level protocols and be confident in supporting a broad range of IT technology.
