Position Summary
You will prepare Economic Analysis for Offshore Europe's Operated Assets, including Armada and Everest / Lomond, and present insights to OE Management and to Joint Venture partners as well as provide guidance on the formulation and delivery of strategy and on commercial decision making.

This  role is an integral part of the Operated Business Development team, contributing to the development of strategies and tactics to win deals were you will be required to:

- Respond to questions from Joint Venture partners and put the BG point of view.
- Undertake the Business Planning, Opportunity Screening, PRI, Reserves Reporting and other corporate processes for assigned licences.
- Prepare all economic submissions for assigned licences.
- Take account of interaction between the different business units in the asset.
- Identify and quantify key factors in project value and identify the optimum approach to proposed projects.
- Support negotiations with government and co-venturers.
- Support contractual commerial obligations in relation to tariffing, capacity bookings overlays with economics.

HSSE

Economics

- Prepare all Economic Analysis on assets assigned to the jobholder, including for Business Planning and all other corporate reporting processes.
- Decide how each piece of analysis should be delivered and should seek linkages between different assets.
- Deliver advice and guidance on what may be risky or complex decisions.
- Contribute to asset strategy.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to Joint Venture partners.
- Economic Evaluation and detailed audit of value – including tariff value.
- Design most appropriate way to present the information to management and Group Executive papers.
- Perform Economic Analysis for Investment Papers and write Economics section.
- Improve existing PEEP and Excel models where necessary in consultation with the Economics Manager - Offshore Europe.
- Provide analytical support for, and add value to, the upstream assets as they put substantial investment in further exploration and development work
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
• Degree in a numerate discipline or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of technical aspects of Exploration & Production.
• Experience in building, maintaining and using complex PEEP, Excel and CASH and PLAN models and software.
• Experience of the Reserve Reporting process in BG Group.
• Strong familiarity with BG Group appraisal techniques and approvals process.
• Experience of UK or other upstream fiscal / tax regimes.
• Comfortable with more risky and complex decisions.
• Good understanding of financial reporting, tax and project financing.
• Strong analytic and diagnostic skills. Understanding of which real life business decisions are likely to create or destroy value.
• Good understanding of economics, risk and forecasting.
• Calm, resilient and efficient in dealing with colleauges and co-verturers, and open to learning and new ideas.
