Fire Safety Leader - Buildings Group - Perth

Due to an increasing workload, we are currently seeking a Fire Safety Leader to join our Perth office and play a key leadership role for the office. You will possess extensive experience and market knowledge with particular focus on business development, client relationships and project delivery.
The Perth Buildings Group has particular expertise in the Education, Health and Aviation sectors, but also has a strong track record in commercial, retail, residential and leisure projects. Current projects include the Perth Airport International Terminal Expansion (Departures), City Square South a 17 storey commercial office development in Perth CBD and Port Hedland Main Roads Laboratory Building. The Buildings team works on projects with fees ranging from $10K to $30M.
Key responsibilities of the position include
- Develop and grow the Fire Safety team within the Perth Buildings Group
- Investigate new, as well as develop and maintain existing client relationships
- Work with other service groups/disciplines to develop strategies and opportunities
- Assume responsibility for the management and delivery of large and complex projects
- Manage project planning and resourcing activities
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and personal attributes
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability
- High level consulting and client management skills
- Experienced in the delivery of major and/or complex design projects to blue chip clients
- Excellent communicator with well-developed commercial, analytical and technical skills.
- Experienced in working with architects to deliver fast paced, innovative and complex building projects.
- Strong client focus and proven track record in business development
- Interest in mentoring, guidance and training to less experienced staff
- Familiarity with the International Fire Engineering Guidelines as well as NIST, NFPA and Australian Building Codes.
You will be degree qualified with a Master of Fire Engineering and a person who is loyal, team-oriented and keen to develop their career for the long term. It is expected that you have had a strong exposure to conceptual fire engineering designs, fire modelling, fire safety assessments, peer reviews, fire safety risk assessments, fire engineering briefs and reports.
Future ownership in the business is also a possibility for this position.
