Junior Analyst GIE - Gas Infrastructure Europe | Brussels


Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) is an association representing the sole interest of the infrastructure industry in the natural gas business such as Transmission System Operators, Storage System Operators and LNG Terminal Operators. GIE has currently 68 members in 24 European countries.
GIE voices the views of its members vis-à-vis the European institutions, regulators and other stakeholders. Its mission is to actively contribute to the construction of a single, sustainable and competitive gas market in Europe underpinned by a stable and predictable regulatory framework as well as by a sound investment climate.

In view of the activities to be developed by the GIE Secretariat in 2013, Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) is looking for a candidate to join the Secretariat team in Brussels in the following full-time position:
  • Junior Analyst
Under the management of the Vice-Executive Secretaries, the main activities of this position are:
  • To conduct market research in a number of different areas (gas infrastructure projects, EU & national regulatory developments, commercial agreements, etc.) and using the information collected to produce new publications or to keep the existing ones updated;
  • To contribute to the maintenance and development of IT projects by collecting and uploading information into the databases, interacting with the GIE members, monitoring the relevant publications from the EU institutions, dealing with the IT consultants and ensuring the well-functioning and progress of the project;
  • To support the Vice-Executive Secretaries in the preparation of presentations, communications, and reports to be delivered/used in public workshops, conferences and internal working groups meetings;
  • To assist the GIE secretariat in the organization of external and internal events by providing logistic support;
  • To help the secretariat to develop its external and internal communication tools/materials.
The candidates should have an University degree and ideally 1 or 2 years’ experience, preferably in the framework of the EU’s institutions or in the gas industry (regulatory affairs). The candidates should have an interest in both the gas industry and the European policy developments. She/he is expected to have good diplomatic and team-work skills. As the GIE working language is English, applicants should be fluent in spoken and written English.
The post is well suited as an interesting step in the career development of high potential junior employees. In the first place, the candidate will be hired for a six-month period. This period might be extended or not depending on both the performance of the candidate and the internal GIE work program.
The candidate should be able to start to join the GIE team as soon as possible, but not later than 1 March 2013.
