Programme Coordinator

Commencing in January 2013, Voices of Development is a ground breaking two year pilot programme that will significantly enhance and increase the engagement of volunteers at each stage of their volunteer journey. Created through a partnership between Restless Development and VSO, the programme is designed to equip, empower and facilitate these volunteers to effectively contribute to international development debates and campaigns in the UK. By offering a wide menu of engagement options this pilot will create an intimate group of ‘Development Advocates’ and a larger group of ‘Development Champions’ with the ambition of influencing policy and practice and inspiring action across a number of audiences – public, government and private sector.

The Programme Coordinator will be tasked with training, supporting and designing a range of engagement opportunities for 30+ Development Advocates and a broader set of Development Champions to influence networks, decision makers and general public to shift perceptions of development and to take action in the UK.

Working specifically through a range of media, the unique contribution of this programme will be the videos, stories, photos and images created by National and International volunteers in placement in Africa and Asia to inform debate and action for influence in the UK.
