Senior Overhead Wiring Engineer - Aurecon

Aurecon are involved with a range of upcoming rail projects for traction overhead line and substation works to be undertaken within the Asia Pacific Region. Primarily responsible for the provision of design and design management services, our Rail Systems Services Group provide an expertise widely regarded within the Transport and Infrastructure industries.
To complement our Rail Group, we are seeking a senior Overhead Line/Traction Engineer. The senior engineer will apply technical, management and business development expertise to projects across the Asia Pacific region.
Key responsibilities will entail:
  • Lead the development and growth of the overhead line group
  • Prepare, supervise and self-check OHLE designs to concept and/or detailed levels using predefined standards or based on the applications of documented OHLE philosophy
  • Cost, time and quality outcomes of all projects / sections of projects
  • Leading / supervising the preparation of field investigations, including data gathering and report writing to support scope preparation, costing, design and commissioning outputs
  • Training and mentoring of Overhead Line teams and professionals
  • Provide regular updates to Project Leaders of task progress
This position can be based in any of Aurecon's major offices located in Australia's capital cities.
Essential requirements include:
  • Bachelor degree qualification in mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Chartered Accreditation (CPEng, RPEQ) or the ability to obtain in the near future
  • Extensive previous experience in the design and implementation of AC and DC overhead Line traction systems.
