Aurecon's Telecommunications Group has for many years delivered major projects nationally for some of Australia's biggest organisations. With the forward pipeline of projects continuing to grow and develop, we now have a need to engage a senior technical professional to act in the role of National Design Manager to ensure that all projects are delivered consistently from a design and documentation perspective.
As this is a National role, the position can be based in any one of our major Delivery Centres across the country.
The key responsibilities of the Design Manager will include:
- Establish and maintain consistent approaches to all engineering and design documentation activities nationally
- Implement a national drawing quality assurance process and oversee engineering and design documentation for compliance to quality procedures
- Direct interface with customer design leads on a regular basis
- Assist the business development teams to influence client decisions and work on/win design tenders
- Advise on proposed design buildability, construction considerations and complex designs
- Work towards the further development of design/drafting capabilities in our overseas offices
- Identify other innovations and process improvements in the design space to improve performance
As a suitably qualified Structural Engineer, it will be imperative that you not only present with a strong structural design background in the Telecommunications industry, but also be able to pass this knowledge on to other engineers within the business both locally and in our international offices in South Africa & Thailand. Along with excellent interpersonal skills, you should be comfortable liaising and developing business with both internal and external clients.
