The BBC’s Global News division includes BBC World Service, BBC World News television, BBC.com (the BBC's international facing online and mobile news services) and BBC Monitoring. BBC Global News Ltd. is the division’s commercial arm and includes BBC World News television and the news, weather and sport elements of BBC.com.

BBC World News is the 24 hour international commercial television news channel which is available in over 200 countries. BBC.com is one of the world’s largest news websites.

Role

This is a fascinating and challenging role for a senior first-class communicator with an interest in international news. You will play a lead role in promoting our programmes and services around the world as well as major new business deals which help expand our reach.

As part of an international communications team working across corporate, news and programme publicity, this role will also be expected to work flexibly depending on priorities and work demands. You will therefore play an important role in defending and promoting BBC Global News across all its different services.

You will report to the International Communications Manager and will work closely with the rest of the BBC Global News Ltd. publicity team directly managing proactive, multiplatform publicity campaigns and breaking news across a range of key strands including bbc.com/news.

Requirements

You will bring experience and skills in proactive programme publicity including proven track record in generating press coverage in UK and/or international media. Ideally experience in dealing with media, TV correspondents across consumer and trade.

This will be accompanied by demonstrable experience in devising and implementing online and social media communications plans. Experience working with digital brands a plus.

You will have a good eye for a story and the ability to think creatively in placing news stories and programme publicity across a range of different media.

Good press material writing and editing skills, plus a strong attention to detail is absolutely key.

Language skills are a plus.
