Volunteer overseas with Progressio 2013

Progressio is offering 18 to 25 year olds based in the UK a once in a lifetime opportunity to volunteer in El Salvador, Honduras, Malawi, Nicaragua or Zimbabwe for as part of International Citizen Service (ICS). This is a chance to use existing talents, gain new skills and use the experience overseas to inspire social action on global issues back in the UK.
ICS, funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), is a global volunteering experience which supports young people  from all backgrounds to make a real difference to some of the world’s poorest people.
Volunteer teams will spend 10 weeks volunteering alongside local people tackling poverty together in the areas of environment, HIV, participation and gender.
Progressio’s ICS programme is unique in that it provides a space for reflection and an opportunity to deepen understanding on the role of faith and development, and improve your skills by taking on a specific role within the team, such as blogging, collecting visual media, monitoring and evaluation or community relations.
You don’t have to pay to volunteer for Progressio ICS, but we do ask volunteers to fundraise (usually £800) to help meet some of the costs.
We also need small number of volunteer group leaders, who must be 23+ and have experience leading groups of young people.
