Raleigh’s Tanzania Country Programme Manager Job

Raleigh’s Tanzania Country Programme Manager (CPM) is one member of the staff team of at least three international staff and several local staff based in-country, responsible for representing and delivering Raleigh International’s interests. Our aim is to develop a number of long-term country programmes that work with young people to deliver sustainable development. Raleigh’s programmes in Tanzania consist of Expedition programmes;  predominantly achieved by working with international teams  on environmental, community and adventure projects and Raleigh  International Citizen Service (ICS)  programme; which is a DFID funded programme to work with in-country and UK volunteers (50/50 ratio) designed to have a positive development impact on poor communities while also achieving the personal and social development of the volunteers. This role involves the day to day planning and management of the Expedition programmes, including project planning, safety, logistics, transport, staff and volunteer training, managing volunteer leaders, routine budget control, crisis management and managing the in-country office.  There may be scope to work on the ICS programme subject to Raleigh’s needs.
 
We are looking for a operations professional with proven and extensive experience of developing and delivering overseas programmes and managing the welfare and activities of groups of youth volunteers (18- 25) and Volunteer Managers to achieve the programmes aims. 
 
Prior experience of delivering overseas development programmes in a management role, of a similar duration and scale is an essential requirement for this role.
