Chief Executive, Marie Stopes International (MSI)

Marie Stopes International (MSI) is an uncompromisingly mission-driven organisation. It provides high quality sexual health services to women and men all over the world. MSI believes that women should have children by choice not chance.
 
Founded in 1976 to promote family planning and provide access to safe abortion services it was, from the first, an entrepreneurial, innovative, social enterprise. Thirty years later, its commitment to the prevention of unwanted pregnancies and births has taken it in to the delivery of contraception, safe abortion, and mother and baby care in 42 countries around the world. MSI is trusted by millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people to provide them with quality sexual and reproductive health care.
 
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will translate the vision and mission of MSI into reality by providing inspiration, leadership and direction to the delivery of the organisation’s goals. At its heart, the primary responsibility of this role is to further MSI’s goal - the prevention of unwanted births - and its mission, ensuring individuals’ right to Children by Choice not Chance.
 
An established leader and general manager, with a proven track record of delivering results; the next CEO of MSI will have an absolute commitment to the mission and goals of the organisation, and the resilience and strength of purpose to achieve them. He/she will be a truly global citizen, international in orientation and comfortable working in a variety of geographic settings with a hugely diverse group of colleagues, partners and customers. Critically he/she will be highly commercial in orientation, experienced in identifying and maximising opportunities for financial surplus generation, and with a track record of stimulating innovation and creativity in colleagues.
