Drilling Superintendent

Our Client-
A leading independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company. Operations are focused onshore in the United States and Canada. Our client also owns natural gas pipelines and treatment facilities in many of our producing areas, making them one of North America's larger processors of natural gas liquids. 
Job Description-
  • This position has oversight responsibility for the day-to-day execution of drilling operations for a designated region. This position is based in OKC, or Midland, TX reports to the Drilling Manager, and works closely with the engineering staff to provide direction and leadership to well-site drilling operations, including setting the highest standards for personnel safety and the protection of the environment. Provides leadership that creates a positive team environment while driving for continuous performance improvement. Supervises a group of experienced consultant drilling foremen and ensures that drilling contractors and service providers deliver top performance while adhering to industry best practices. Ensures well control prevention measures are followed and maintains the highest level of emergency preparedness. Responsible for oversight of service providers supporting field operations including planning and conducting contractor safety meetings. Other responsibilities include ensuring full and accurate daily operational reports, enforcing contract terms and ensuring invoices are properly authorized, approved, coded and processed. Responsible for developing relationships with various local, state and federal agencies. Essential Functions:
  • Oversight of well construction operations
  • Ensure service providers adhere to the highest EHS standards
  • Administer and provide leadership in the development of EHS program
  • Ensure effective well control prevention measures are in place
  • Ensure the highest level of emergency preparedness
  • Ensure the highest quality goods and services at competitive prices
  • Facilitate good communication between the field and corporate office
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements
  • Participate and promote governmental and civic functions and programs
  • Responsibility and authority to stop unsafe work by employees and contractors
     
Candidate Requirements-
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ten or more years of drilling operational experience
  • Experience in horizontal drilling
  • Strong Technical background in drilling operations
  • Proven leader
  • Strong communication skills (e.g. presentations, verbal, e-mail, activity reports)
