PaRR, a global newswire focused on regulatory news coverage is seeking a reporter to cover court proceedings and regulatory developments, focusing on competition, international trade and IP. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of litigation and regulatory processes, be a fast and accurate writer and possess a competitive attitude toward breaking news.
Preference will be given to journalists who have a proven record of thoughtful legal coverage. We would also consider candidates within the legal industry that may lack reporting experience, provided that they have solid working knowledge of the EU and UK court systems and possess excellent writing skills.
The reporter will be responsible for covering complex legal proceedings accurately and in a manner that is both engaging and understandable to readers. He/she will be a persistent reporter as well as have a good understanding of how competition policy influences business.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, as the role will require extensive coordination with journalists around the globe.
Requirements: At least one year's legal reporting experience, preferably covering court proceedings. BA required, MA and/or LLM preferred. The right candidate will have impeccable English; other European languages will be considered a distinctive advantage.
This role will also require:
- Familiarity with EU and UK competition policy and courts system.
- Ability to travel and report live from hearings.
- Good understanding of the current antitrust enforcement environment.
- Ability to work under time pressure as well as produce analytical features.
