Salary: up to £30,000 p.a. pro rata (6 month fixed term contract)
Applications are invited for a Senior Researcher to join BSHF’s UK housing research team.
Role
The primary purpose of the post is to develop and carry out original, high quality housing research and analysis that has the potential to influence UK housing policy, and ultimately result in people being better housed. In addition, you will be expected to take a leading role in coordinating the work of the UK team of researchers working at BSHF under the overall supervision of the Director.

The Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) is an independent research charity that believes that everyone should have access to decent housing. Established in 1976, BSHF works both in the UK and internationally.
The UK programme, within which this post will be based, undertakes rigorous, independent research and analysis to contribute to the evidence base for housing policy in the UK, and draws findings to the attention of relevant policy makers and other stakeholders.
BSHF is based in Coalville in Leicestershire, where it has strong historical ties. Coalville is within commuting distance of Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham.
Qualifications
We are open to candidates from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, but you must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate with a range of audiences. You should share the programme’s commitment to using robust, evidence-led research to improve policy and practice and be open to developing new skills and knowledge.
